Accessibility Specialist

Role Overview:

Whitethorn Games is seeking a full-time Accessibility Specialist for an on-site position at our headquarters in Erie, Pennsylvania. As an industry leader in accessibility, Whitethorn Games is committed to growing our Quality Assurance and Accessibility teams who are responsible for providing support to developers whose games we publish. This team of professionals ensures that all games published by Whitethorn Games are accessible to as many players as possible, and will do so by:  


  • …conducting individual accessibility and usability expert evaluations of our portfolio titles on a recurring basis during and after launch; 

  • …participating in industry conferences, groups, and publications to ensure a consistently up-to-date knowledge of accessibility in games; 

  • …planning, coordinating, and executing usability and accessibility studies with real players from our local database at our HQ employing current social, psychological, and biometric research techniques; 

  • …working with our Producer to deliver reports, presentations, and track changes in games relating to accessibility across our portfolio of titles by developers around the world; 

  • …and acting as a consistent spokesperson for the importance of inclusion and accessibility both locally and across the games industry as a whole.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be legally entitled to work in the United States. 

  • Must be able to read/write/speak English.

  • Must be willing to work locally in Erie, Pennsylvania. 

  • Preference: a relevant degree or work experience in accessibility, usability, user testing, sciences or social science disciplines, or academics. 

  • Preference: history in, or working knowledge of the video game industry.


Quality Agent

Whitethorn Games is seeking full and part-time Quality Agents for on-site positions at our headquarters in Erie, Pennsylvania. With a portfolio spanning every major consumer gaming platform of the last two generations, the demand to manage consistent product quality across our global storefronts takes excellent organizational skills, meticulous, detail-oriented game reviewing, and a strong spirit of communication and collaboration. Our QAs help us maintain quality across our entire lineup of titles by:   

  • …creating, maintaining, accessing, and updating task boards with bugs, issues, and problems to be resolved by the development team(s); 

  • …reviewing in-development and live customer products for bugs, errors, and inconsistencies on an ongoing basis; 

  • …directly communicating issues, found both by QAs and players themselves to the developers for investigation and correction; 

  • …being a voice for the importance of bug-free, quality products both internally and with our development partners and; 

  • …ensuring a high quality of technical proficiency and performance across our portfolio of games by using third-party and internal tools at their disposal.
