Join the Whitethorn Games 18-Hour Extra Life Charity Stream Marathon!

Whitethorn Games is excited to announce our Extra Life Charity Marathon to raise funds for our local Children’s Miracle Network at AHN Saint Vincent Hospital! On Saturday, November 4, we will be live from our studio in Erie, Pennsylvania, for at least 12 hours of games, giveaways, and great times!

We invite you to stop by the Whitethorn Games Twitch channel and enjoy the event with us, check out the special activities we have in store, and meet our adorable office cat, Venti.

One hundred percent of the proceeds raised through our Extra Life Charity Marathon will be donated to our local children’s hospital, AHN Saint Vincent, which has worked tirelessly to provide specialized care for Erie’s most vulnerable community members.

Children’s Miracle Network at AHN Saint Vincent provides services that benefit families and patients, including the hospital’s Family Assistance Program, Safe Sleep Initiative, Special Delivery Packages, and more. Through these programs, families receive gas cards and meal cards, as well as car seats and pack-and-play. Every baby born at AHN Saint Vincent receives a Special Delivery Package, including a onesie, sippy cup and sleep sack to help prevent Sudden Infant Death Syndrome(SIDS). In addition, Children’s Miracle Network funds top-of-the-line medical equipment like the isolettes in the NICU, warmers on the Mom+ Baby floor, and the NICU transporter that provides everything a NICU pod has to treat a baby if they need to be transferred via ambulance or helicopter. 

Donations recieved through events like Extra Life are integral in supporting these important, life-saving services to their most vulnerable patients, regardless of the family’s ability to pay. Now more than ever, our families need CMNs’ support with gas cards and meal cards, car seats, pack and plays, and more. Most importantly, CMN funds top-of-the-line medical equipment suitable to each child’s needs to ensure they not only survive but thrive. The funds recieved through partnerships and events like these also help the hospital provide a chance for the children under their care, things that allow them a break from the stress of facing one of the most challenging things in their young lives. Most recently, because of funds raised through Extra Life, CMN was able to purchase a gaming tower with a loaded Nintendo Switch for their patients on the pediatric unit!

We understand that many PlayStation 5 holders are excited about The Forest Cathedral’s release on Tuesday, unfortunately, circumstances beyond our control have impacted the launch timeline, necessitating this delay.

Special Look into the Witches of Magical Delicacy

It’s spooky season, meaning that it’s a perfect time to learn about some of the mystical residents you’ll discover in the upcoming cooking-meets-metroidvania-light game Magical Delicacy — coming to PC and Xbox next year! Playing as protagonist Flora — a young witch who journeys to a new town in order to grow her magical skills — you’ll encounter a host of interesting pathfinders that populate the seaside town of Grat, including the witches who will help (or hinder) Flora on her journey. Today developer sKaule would like to offer you a special look into the two witch covens you’ll encounter in Flora’s new home.

As you enter the bustling adventurer harbour town of Grat, you will stumble upon two witch covens operating as the guardians of magic: the Shena Circle and the Keskar Dawn. Their goals align, but their beliefs and ways of handling situations could not be more different, resulting in an ongoing rivalry between the two groups.

The Shena Circle is a coven of witches who believe the river that runs through the island where Grat is located is the sole sacred source of the Mist, which allows them to wield water-based magic. These witches believe everything coming from the Mist must be accepted as a nourishing gift to the greater good of the town.

On the other hand, The Keskar Dawn is a group of vigilante magi who seek to protect magical beings and oppose the increased research by adventures and academics alike in their safe haven, the river’s wellspring. The Keskar Dawn wields umbral magic and believes leaving the river wellspring untouched will be the best for Grat.

As Flora becomes more familiar with Grat, she will meet the Shenai witch, Cassia, and the Keskar magus, Tauno, who both have much to teach her. Will their rivalry get in the way of Flora’s goals? 

About Magical Delicacy

In this Metroidvania-inspired wholesome cooking game, players will take on the role of Flora, a young witch who cooks magical delicacies from a vast collection of ingredients in her shop. Explore the unfamiliar town of Grat and deliver these tasty treats to the townsfolk, learn new ways to traverse, discover secrets, and experience a unique and witchy world one dish at a time.

• Enchanted Recipes: collect new recipes and ingredients through trade, questing, and exploring throughout the town of Grat.

Let’s get this paw-ty started! Publisher Whitethorn Games and developer Peachy Keen Games are purr-ty excited to announce that Calico will be available on PlayStation 4 and 5 on November 28, 2023!

If you have a PlayStation console, get ready to enjoy the beloved day-in-the-life community sim game, where you are given an important and adorable task: rebuild the town’s cat café! Fill it with cute furniture, fun decorations, and yummy pastries to get it bustling with animals again!

Lake: Season's Greetings Release Date Announced!

Today, Whitethorn Games — publisher of inclusive, accessible, easy-going games, including APICO, Calico, Lake, and Wytchwood — and developer Gamious are excited to announce that the long-awaited Lake prequel holiday-themed DLC, Lake: Season’s Greetings, will be coming to PC, Xbox and PlayStation 4 and 5, November 15, 2023! To celebrate this announcement, Gamious has revealed a closer look at the story players will unravel in Season’s Greetings.

Make this a December to remember! Lake: Season’s Greetings takes place during 1985’s holiday season, one year before the original Lake game. Players take on the role of Thomas Weiss, an amiable mail carrier and father to Lake’s protagonist, Meredith Weiss. Changing the perspective from Meredith to her father, players will gain an understanding of the Weiss family dynamics and an insight into a snow-covered Providence Oaks from a long-time resident’s point of view. Not only will players learn more about the familiar faces they have grown to love from the main story, but Season’s Greetings introduces five completely new characters to the town of Providence Oaks, each with their very own storylines. The DLC will also provide more background to some unanswered questions that were teased in Lake. Following the ideals of the base game, Season’s Greetings will continue to focus on slice-of-life themes and relaxing vibes, this time embedded in a comfy holiday setting. So curl up with some hot cocoa and a copy of Season’s Greetings because it isn’t Christmas until Thomas Weiss has delivered the holiday cheer.
