Today, Whitethorn Games, publisher of inclusive, accessible, approachable games, and BAFTA-nominated developers, Polygon Treehouse, are thrilled to share that the exploration friendship adventure game Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is now available on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox. Step on the sunny beaches of long-lost Ambrosia island — home to the Greek gods. Befriend them and earn their favour. Use their godly powers to help you hunt for treasures and learn more about this mysterious island. Uncover its mystery to help them regain their forgotten identities and find your way home.

Watch the Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island launch trailer below:

"Launching a game is always an exciting (and terrifying) time,” said Alex Kanaris-Sotiriou, Creative Director and Lead Developer at Polygon Treehouse. “After three years, we're very excited to finally share our tiny team's hard work with players around the world. We've put a lot of ourselves into the game, and we hope you enjoy playing. EEEP!"

In celebration of Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island’s launch, from now until December 11, the game will be available for a 10% discount on Steam and for Xbox via the Microsoft Store.

In Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, players take on the role of backpacker Alex, who has found herself stranded on the mysterious shores of Ambrosia Island. As she begins to explore her surroundings, she discovers that she is not alone — the island is populated by the gods of Greek myth and legend! However, something is amiss — the gods are unable to remember who they are. In order to find her way home, she must befriend the inhabitants and restore their memories.

Explore the dynamic island in this non-linear adventure inspired by elements of A Short Hike and Ace Attorney franchise. Unravel the story of the island and build friendships with the gods through a unique relationship mechanic. The closer you become, the more they are willing to help Alex with their godly powers. Can you solve the mystery of Ambrosia Island, save the gods, and help Alex find a way back home?

Key Features of Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island include:

  • Gods Among Us: Many Gods call Ambrosia Island home, from Ares to Athena, Hermes to Hades. Tracking them all down is made easier with the Ambrosidex, though some may be harder to meet than others.

  • Treasure in the Sandbox: Use the radar signal on the Ambrosidex to hunt for lost godly treasures hidden all over the island! Return them to their rightful owners to help rekindle their memories and learn more about the island’s fate.

  • Conversational Wizard: Explore the island, examine new objects and locations, and talk to others to unlock new conversation topics. Maybe some Gods know something that will help Alex on her adventure, but some sensitive topics may be off-limits until you have earned their friendship.

  • Even Gods Need a Friend: Experience a non-linear, emotional story about the importance of friendship, family, and community.

Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island is now available on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch,  Xbox One and Series S|X for $24.99 USD. Until December 11, the game can be purchased for a special 10% launch discount on Steam and the Microsoft Store.

But if you really want to get wild, then you’re in for a treat — check out Free Spray mode during the demo! With an array of lovely colours unlocked, you can create a rainbow world and paint anything you can reach! If you want a break, go exploring through the area — on foot or with the help of some scaffolding and ladders — to uncover some fun hidden secrets.

Upgrade your tools, vehicles, and equipment, and use an assortment of ladders and scaffolding to help you get to those hard-to-reach spots. Fill the world with rainbow hues, painting everything from rooms and homes to cars and bridges and even giant robots!
